In this study, authors examined the differences in adherence to a Mediterranean diet in over 1,000 vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. A Mediterranean diet emphasizes plant foods like nuts and has been shown to offer protection against cardiovascular disease.

Key Findings

Key Findings: In this study, vegans consumed significantly more nuts and legumes than omnivores and higher Mediterranean diet scores. Vegetarians also had higher scores than omnivores.
