Methods

Authors searched all the studies done between 1946 and 2017 on the relationship between age of solid food introduction and risk of food allergies. A total of 25 studies were analyzed, and peanuts were included in the analysis.

Key Findings

Key Findings: There was no evidence that introducing solid foods before 4 months protected against food allergies, but there was evidence that it may protect against food sensitization. For peanuts, introduction between 4-11 months significantly reduced the risk of peanut allergy.
