Association of a plant-based dietary pattern in relation to gestational diabetes mellitus

The aim of this study was to look at the association between plant-based dietary patterns and gestational diabetes. Authors examined 460 pregnant women and used 24-hour dietary recalls to evaluate diet.
Key Findings: Adherence to a plant-based diet was associated with a 53% reduced risk of gestational diabetes. Future longitudinal studies are needed in this area.
