Methods

This was a case-control study (785 cases, 2107 controls) in which authors examined the risk for colorectal adenoma with consumption of peanuts, peanut butter, and all nuts combined. Colorectal adenoma is a common precursor to many colorectal cancers. According to the authors, this is the first study to identify its association with nut consumption.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Results showed a 43% reduced risk of colorectal adenomas with moderate nut consumption (2-5.5 servings per week).
