Methods

In this review, authors analyzed 30 studies across 13 countries in 68,659 participants. The objective was to examine the effects of linoleic acid (a polyunsaturated fat in peanuts) on risk of cardiovascular disease.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Higher levels of linoleic acid were associated with a 7% lower incidence of cardiovascular disease, 22% lower incidence of CVD mortality, and 12% reduced incidence of stroke. Authors conclude: “These results support a favorable role for linoleic acid in CVD prevention."
