This study reviewed the current evidence about the role that various foods play in preventing disease and promoting health.
Key Findings
The evidence from both epidemiological and clinical studies showed that diets high in plant foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, and lower in animal-based foods can reduce risk of non-communicable diseases including cardiovascular disease and cancer.
