Methods

This paper examined seven studies with 6,477 cases of stroke and 241,378 participants between 1966 and 2011. The aim was to investigate the relationship between dietary magnesium intake and risk of ischemic stroke. Peanuts are a good source of magnesium.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Dietary magnesium was inversely associated with stroke risk. Every increase in 100mg magnesium per day was accompanied by an 8% reduced stroke risk.
