Methods
There is a high prevalence of malnutrition among kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis. This cross-sectional study done on 471 patients in Nepal looked at the knowledge and practices of patients regarding dietary recommendations for renal disease.
Key Findings
Results showed that patients had limited knowledge about the right diet to consume. Authors recommend that a plant-based diet could be encouraged, as it would reduce comorbidities and complications associated with renal disease, with the added protection in terms of diet cost.
