Methods

This study examined the effects of p-coumaric acid administration on LDL cholesterol and LDL oxidation in rats. The study was designed to look at the mechanisms by which p-coumaric acid acts as an antioxidant. P-coumaric acid is a polyphenol found in peanuts.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Oral administration of p-coumaric acid for 30 days significantly inhibited LDL oxidation and also lowered LDL cholesterol.
