This was an intervention study in 15 healthy, normal weight adults. The objective was to examine the effects of peanut consumption on satiety and energy balance.
Key Findings: Resting energy expenditure was increased by 11% after participants consumed peanuts for 19 weeks. Peanuts had a high satiety value and participants had a lower than predicted body weight gain after the study.
