Methods

The aim of this study was to explore the effect of a food's macronutrient composition and energy density on hunger and food intake. The investigators gave 24 participants preloads of certain foods including peanuts and peanut butter to test this.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Hunger ratings after consuming peanuts/peanut butter were significantly less than lower energy preloads. The authors conclude that energy content may be the primary determinant of a food's impact on hunger.
