This meta-analysis and systematic review looked at the relationship between peanut/tree nut consumption and weight gain in a variety of studies.
Key Findings: Results showed that nut-enriched diets did not result in changes in body weight, BMI, or waist circumference in studies either with or without substitution instructions. Even when participants were not instructed to replace another food item in the diet with nuts, there was still no weight gain.
