Methods

In this review, authors looked at the relationship between long-term nut consumption and weight control. A total of 1580 studies were examined and six were included in the final analysis.

Key Findings

Key Findings: In general, nut consumption was associated with less weight gain and lower risk of overweight/obesity. Peanut butter was associated with less weight gain in three US studies, and peanuts were associated with reduced weight gain in one study. The authors recommend that future studies examine the generalizability of these results to various populations.
