Methods

This paper analyzed 7 studies that looked at the relationship between magnesium intake from foods and incidence of type 2 diabetes (286,668 participants and 10912 cases). The aim was to assess the relationship between magnesium intake and risk of type 2 diabetes. Peanuts are a good source of magnesium.

Key Findings

Key Findings: Magnesium intake was inversely associated with type 2 diabetes incidence. Every 100 mg per day increase in magnesium intake was accompanied by a 15% reduced risk of type 2 diabetes.
