In this study, authors injected uterine fibroid cells into mouse models and treated them with resveratrol, a potent polyphenol found in peanuts. Human fibroid cells were also treated in vitro.
Key Findings
Resveratrol significantly suppressed tumor cell growth and decreased cell proliferation. Authors conclude that resveratrol could potentially be used as an anti-fibrotic therapy for uterine fibroids.
