Methods
This review highlights various phytochemicals in foods and explains their role in protecting against and treating neurological diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
Key Findings
Key Findings: Among other findings, resveratrol (a phytochemical in peanuts) was discussed as an important phytochemical for neurological disorders. Studies in mice have shown its ability to reverse cognitive defects, as well as restoring cognitive functions. Resveratrol also showed the ability to prevent neuronal death. Authors regard resveratrol as a "miracle" molecule because it exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflamatory properties.
