Methods

This study analyzed the latest evidence on nut consumption and cardiovascular disease, using a total of 19 studies in the analysis.

Key Findings

Key Findings: The results showed that when comparing the highest to lowest consumption of nuts, higher nut intake was associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease incidence/mortality, coronary heart disease incidence/mortaility, stroke mortality and atrial fibrillation. Authors conclude that the study showed a beneficial role of nut consumption for reducing both the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular disease outcomes.
