Methods

This study analyzed the latest evidence on nut consumption and cardiovascular disease, using a total of 19 studies in the analysis.

Key Findings

The results showed that when comparing the highest to lowest consumption of nuts, higher nut intake was associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease incidence/mortality, coronary heart disease incidence/mortaility, stroke mortality and atrial fibrillation. Authors conclude that the study showed a beneficial role of nut consumption for reducing both the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular disease outcomes.
