Methods
In this study, authors examined the relationship between specific types of nuts (including peanuts) and the risk of cardiovascular disease. The study utilized data from over 200,000 participants who took part in the Nurses’ Health Study I and II, as well as the Health Professionals Follow Up Study.
Key Findings
Key Findings: Results showed that total nut consumption was associated with reduced risk of total cardiovascular disease and heart disease. Consuming peanuts 2 times or more per week was associated with a 13% reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and a 15% reduced risk of heart disease.
