Methods

In this study, authors reviewed 7,480 studies that highlighted the association between nut consumption (including peanuts) and risk of metbolic syndrome. A total of 68 studies were used after exclusion criteria were applied.

Key Findings

Results showed that regular nut consumption reduced the risk of metabolic syndrome. Nut consumption was also associated with a significant reduction in body weight, body mass index, and waist circumference.
