This cohort study examined 20,742 male physicians over an average time period of 9.6 years. The objective was to look at the relationship between nut consumption and mortality.
Key Findings: Data showed an inverse association between nut consumption and mortality from all causes and cardiovascular disease. For participants consuming 5 or more servings per week, nut consumption was associated with a 26% reduced mortality risk.
