The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between intake of tree nuts/peanuts and cardiovascular disease mortality among participants with diabetes. It utilized data from 16,217 men and women with diabetes in the Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study.
Key Findings: Peanut consumption was associated with a lower mortality risk from all causes. Total nut consumption was associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease incidence and mortality, as well as mortality from all causes.
