This study reviewed the evidence of the relationship between peanut/tree nut consumption and body weight/obesity
Key Findings
While more research is needed, evidence suggests that regular consumption of nuts, including peanuts and tree nuts, is associated with reduced risk of long-term obesity and weight gain. Potential mechanisms behind these observed effects include: increased satiety, incomplete calorie absorption, and increased energy expenditure. Nut intake is also associated with better diet quality.
