This study included 14,686 participants and examined the relationship between adherence to a plant-based diet and kidney function.
Higher adherence to a healthy plant-based diet was associated with a 14% lower risk of chronic kidney disease, while adherence to a less healthy plant-based diet increased risk (11%). Authors conclude that "Higher adherence to healthy plant-based diets and a vegetarian diet was associated with favorable kidney disease outcomes.
