Methods
This study was a review of 49 randomized controlled trials that included 24,272 participants. The objective was to assess the effect of increasing intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and cardiovascular disease risk and mortality. Peanuts contain omega-6 fats, which are PUFAs.
Key Findings
Key Findings: Results showed that increasing PUFA intake may reduce a person's risk of coronary heart disease, cardiovascular disease events, coronary heart disease mortality, and stroke.
