Methods

One question patients living with Parkinson's disease commonly have is, "Does my diet/lifestyle affect the course of my disease?" The aim of this study was to investigate lifestyle factors that are associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) progression.

Key Findings

Consumption of nuts, seeds, and nut spreads were associated with a reduced rate of Parkinson's disease progression. Authors also found that supplementation with Coenzyme Q10 (a compound found naturally in peanuts) was associated with reduced progression of the disease.
