Methods
This study examined 34,617 men and 12,257 women and looked at the relationship beterrn nut consumption (including peanuts, pine nuts, and almonds) and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). LVH is a thickening of the wall of the heart's main pumping chamber, most times caused by high blood pressure.
Key Findings
Results showed that nut consumption ≥2/week was associated with the decreased probability of LVH in women.
