Methods

This study was an analysis of 32 randomized controlled trials that examined the relationship between nut/peanut consumption and endothelial function, as well as inflammation.

Key Findings

Key Findings: The systematic review and analysis showed a potential relationship between nut consumption and improved endothelial function. The authors noted, however, that more research (particularly randomized controlled trials) is needed in this area. There may also be a benefit on inflammatory biomarkers, such as CRP, particularly when other foods are substituted for nuts. More research is needed in this area as well, however.
