Methods
This study reviewed the current evidence surrounding adherence to a Mediterranean diet and risk of depression. The Mediterranean diet emphasizes many foods of plant origin including nuts, vegetables, and olive oil.
Key Findings
Key Findings: A total of 20 observational studies and 6 intervention studies were used. Results showed that 85% of the studies support the evidence that a Mediterranean dietary pattern is associated with reduced incidence of depression. Intervention studies also agree with these findings.
