This study was a review that looked at the relationship between vegetarian diets and inflammation. Thirty observational studies and 10 intervention studies were included in the analysis.
Key Findings: Vegetarian-based dietary patterns were associated with lower concentrations of inflammatory biomarkers than non-vegetarian diets. Plant-based diets may be protective against inflammation, and more research is needed in this area.
